Felicia Carroll, MEd, MA, LMFT, RPT-S
Felicia Carroll has studied and been a training co-leader and colleague with Violet Oaklander, Ph.D. for more than 30 years. She has been recognized for her work with children and adolescents as a keynote speaker and presenter at conferences on Gestalt Therapy. She is published in several books and articles on child psychotherapy and teaches internationally at major post-graduate Gestalt institutes. Since 1991, Felicia has conducted on-going training programs in Gestalt Therapy with children as well as supervision of trainees and licensed clinicians. Prior to her clinical practice, Felicia was a classroom teacher for twelve years and a social studies curriculum supervisor. She has two master’s degrees, one in educational psychology from the University of Oklahoma, the other in early childhood education and counseling psychology from the University of California Santa Barbara. In addition to offering training programs, she also teaches university classes at local graduate programs as adjunct faculty. Felicia is the Founder-Director and Advanced Trainer at the West Coast Institute for Gestalt Therapy with Children and Adolescents.
Valente Orozco, LCSW, RPT-S, PPS
Valente currently works in private practice in Clovis, California and offering training, supervision, and consultation in Gestalt Therapy with Children and Adolescents. He has worked with children in a variety of settings including school-based mental health, child welfare, and outpatient mental health. Valente served as the 2015 President of the Central Valley Chapter of the California Association for Play Therapy. He has trained with the Pacific Gestalt Institute in Los Angeles and is a Certified Gestalt Therapist through PGI. He is also a Certified Gestalt Therapist with Children and Adolescents. He has recently been an international trainer in Mexico and S. Korea.
Stephanie Pawlowicz, LMFT, RPT
Stephanie has a private practice in Santa Barbara, California where she specializes with children, adolescents, and couples. She also specializes in therapeutic interventions with adolescents and adults recovering from addictions. She is adjunct faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute where she teaches child psychotherapy and developmental theories and community mental health. She is also adjunct faculty at Antioch University SB where she teaches contemporary psychotherapy. She has led parent education/support groups and groups for single mothers living at St. Vincent DePaul, Santa Barbara. She is a Certified Gestalt Therapist with children and Adolescents.
Denise Richman, MS, LMFT
Denise has expertise in somatic movements and dramatic therapies as a clinician and also with business management outreach and program development. She is also an early childhood specialist birth to five years. She is a frequent presenter at Fox Studios child development center. She developed and presented the workshop fostering creativity in young children for parents who work at the studio. She is in private practice and is a workshop facilitator and guest lecturer. Denise has recently been an international trainer in Mexico and Australia.
Rachel McSpadden Tarver, LMFT, RPT-S
Rachel works at Martha’s Place Children’s Center in San Luis Obispo, California providing clinical assessment and direct therapy services for children ages birth to five and their families. She also provides individual and group supervision to supervisees working with youth within the public mental health setting. Rachel is participating in the Certification Program through WCI.
Rana Hong, PhD., LCSW, RPT-S
Rana has a private practice in Des Plaines, Illinois while working at Loyola University Chicago as an Adjunct Faculty and Senior Research Associate. With her expertise in attachment-based models (Theraplay © and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy © PCIT), she utilizes trauma-informed Gestalt approaches in working with severely disrupted children and adolescents. She served as a Training Director of Illinois Association for Play Therapy from 2006-2008 and is a current Vice President at The Theraplay Institute. She has authored an article of Becoming a neurobiologically informed play therapist in the International Journal of Play Therapy (2016) and co-authored a chapter in Webb, N., (2014) Play Therapy with Children and Adolescents in Crisis. Rana also has a chapter in the recent (2017) Play Therapy in Asia (see above). She is an approved trainer and completing her certification as a Gestalt Therapist with Children and Adolescents from WCI
